St. Augustine Parish Ministries & Groups

Every Christian, no matter who they are or what they do, are called to serve others and make disciples.

We are all called to be a part of the Church.  We are not just a member of the Church; we play an important role as we bring our gifts and talents to the Lord and unite ourselves with Him.

After Easter, we hear in the readings during Mass, about the first Christian Community.   They loved each other, served one another and had such a bond with each other that, others seeing them, wanted to be part of this newly formed community. When we hear and read about this first community, with all simplicity, joy and love, we want to grow to be more and more like those first Christians.

Our Parish family is blessed with many volunteers who generously give their time and share their talents with our faith community. They do this without any expectation of compensation. They are an example of servant-leadership and giving. They are a blessing
 to our faith community.

We all have gifts from God, and we are all called to serve one another through our Baptism. We do not always recognize how or even where to begin. As with most of us, we find it difficult to believe that we have something to share. But we do! When we are willing to share a piece of ourselves with others, our gifts unfold, and we, as well as others, benefit in ways that only God knows and directs.

Beginning this weekend and for the next several weekends we will hear about different ways we can serve. In the coming weeks, we will have the list of our parish ministries and a description of each ministry.

We encourage you to take time to think, reflect and pray to discern which way God may be calling to build up His Church and our faith community by your service.
