WEDDING POLICY It is the policy of the Archdiocese of Vancouver that couples marry in their registered parish or at a Catholic Church within their parochial boundaries*. St. Augustine’s Parish will consider requests if: 1. The bride and/or groom are Catholic and currently registered at St. Augustine’s Parish. 2. There is an ancestral history with St. Augustine’s Parish: i) the parents or grandparents of the bride and/or groom are now, or were, parishioners; ii) the bride and/or groom attended St. Augustine’s Catholic School; iii) the bride and/or groom were baptized or confirmed at St. Augustine’s Parish; Note: If you are Catholic but are not currently registered at St. Augustine’s Parish, the permission of the Pastor of both the bride and groom’s home parish is required. 3. Exceptions will be considered in the event that the bride or groom’s own parish church is unavailable. * Parochial boundaries: Parishioners of St. Augustine’s Church in Vancouver are those who reside between the west side of Oak St. and the east side of Balaclava Street; and between the False Creek area and the north side of King Edward Ave. September, 2009 For more info contact Father Cook at 604-736-4455 or
